Get Fit Gods Way – Workout 1, by Mara

Mara RoseA month ago, I was contacted by Michelle Spadafora of Faithful Workouts. God’s timing was incredible, as always. Read her guest post here.

Michelle sent some DVDs for me to try and several to give away (see more below)!

So here is where I stand with fitness. I am currently 3 days post-op from my 4th excision surgery and 8 months post-partum. The most exercise I got during pregnancy was walking and sometimes that was too hard. I was able to do 3 mile walks at least 3 months after having the baby – and then I got sick again from Endometriosis. Shortly after that, depression took over and I was unmotivated to do much of anything – let alone workout.

With chronic pain, I’m able to exercise in moderation. It helps me feel better but too much exercise can actually do more harm than good. Fast paced, dancing, crazy jumpy exercise videos are not my thing. So I’ve been trying to find a balance.

A couple weeks ago, I tried one of the Faithful Workout DVD’s. It was amazing! I almost felt moved to tears by the end of the workout. Michelle does an excellent job of encouraging the audience to participate while also giving praise to God. The Christian background music is so uplifting and way better than the standard elevator music.

I love that Michelle offers a modified version. When I was previously working out with the Biggest Loser Wii Fit, it was very effective, but did not offer a modified version or low impact.

I’m looking forward to trying more workouts after I recover from surgery. Thank you for the motivation, Michelle!

Faithful Workouts Cardio DVD, by Danielle

Hey all – I am really excited to introduce my good friend, Danielle Laux, as a regular product reviewer and blogger on my site. She has already contributed several guest posts. I am happy to have her on board and very thankful for the extra help as this site grows!

Danielle LauxRejuvenated. Toned. Happy and healthy. Anything and everything you want to feel from working out. Through her workouts, Michelle provides multiple techniques to keep your body moving, your heart rate up, and keeping the message of God throughout. Our bodies were created by God for our journey here on Earth, and with her workouts, Michelle gives new ways to help us keep our bodies healthy and toned. I especially enjoyed the strength aspect of the videos, which gives weight training a front runner where most workout videos I have tried have glossed over this important aspect.

The only thing I noticed that may have been helpful is there was not an alternative used for the weights. Michelle has varying impacts shown for her cardio portion, but there is not a substitute used or explained if weights were not available.

As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:19 “…your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God…” God provided us with our own temple; our own form so we may live on this planet. He gave it to us to care for; to provide for and through Faithful Workouts Michelle keeps your mind and body healthy. Good for anyone either with their own workout regime or someone who is looking to get back into shape like myself, I highly enjoyed getting up and moving along with the video.
